Welcome to the Scrambled Pixel Dictionary, where every word we make up gets stored for you, so you can understand what the bloody hell we mean.

It will be constantly updated with more and more words that sprout from our minds, so if you find a word in any of our articles that does not compute, chances are you’ll find out what it means here.

Baffar: A word used simply to describe something that confuses you or is out of the ordinary. (This film is certainly a baffar, no question.)

Customist: Someone who loves to customise characters and vehicles in-game.

Extrasuperbulent: A word used when all positive descriptive words elude you, when you’ve used so many positives that you simply need another one or when no positive words describe what you are trying to describe.

Goodbum: An replacement word used only when the word ‘badass’ is used too much.

Hollywoodisation: The act of Hollywood absorbing an existing franchise that has yet to succumb to Hollywood itself (ie. a Hollywood film being made from a series of books.)

Levelist: Someone who prefers their games to be level-based/mission-based as opposed to open play.

Levelocity: The speed at which a game or the player plays through levels.

Light film: A film you can watch while doing something else, or a film you’ve watched before that you are watching to kill time.

Listical: Something that is structured or based on a list-like structure.

Opinionising: The way in which someone has an opinion about something, or the act of creating opinions.

Quentin-spin: a Tarantino direction choice that would only be made by the man himself.

Referencycally: Refers to the tying together of references within an article at the start and finish (ie. referencing something at the start of a review and then refering back to it at the end, thus completing a referencyclical structure).

Repetitivity: The motion of something being/becoming monotonous.

Samplitude: The scale/size of which a demo is.

Tarantino’d: The act of a film or game being created seemingly with Tarantino in mind, displaying filming techniques and aspects commonly found in Tarantino related films.
