District 9 (Trailer)
Peter Jackson’s District 9, despite its low budget and perhaps controversial messages, has been a box office smash in the US.
District 9, a science fiction film directed by Neill Blomkamp, takes place in South Africa, and follows the humans’ reactions to an alien spaceship landing on Earth and residing over Johannesburg. The humans discover aliens inside the ship, leaderless and without resources.
The humans take in the aliens, and house them in a government camp, which becomes a slum when a Nigerian crime lord sets up a black market with the peaceful aliens within.
With a very positive reception, this film looks to be set to rake in awards and money alike.
The film is out in the US, and it to be released in the EU early September.
